Paid value without political amnesia
Purchases, subscriptions & refunds
A plain-language guide to what you buy, what survives a restart, and what happens when a subscription changes.
What may be offered
- Civic Credits: the 5-credit pack or 30-credit Super Mayor pack. Purchased credits remain until used unless their purchase is refunded, revoked, or invalidated.
- Cabinet membership: paid-period access and any allowance shown at checkout for premium counsel and custom-policy discussion.
There is no permanent ad-removal product. Ads are suppressed while Cabinet membership is active or while at least one spendable Civic Credit remains. After membership expires or the final credit is spent, ads can return on the next eligible surface. The exact product, price, currency, tax, billing period, and benefits shown by Google Play at checkout control the purchase.
Why a purchase needs an account
Free play does not need an account. Before your first purchase or restore, we ask you to sign in so the service can protect purchased value, prevent duplicate claims, restore entitlements, and establish verified leaderboard eligibility. Our backend uses a pseudonymous identifier derived from the Google sign-in subject and does not persist your Google email address.
Subscriptions and renewal
A subscription renews through Google Play unless cancelled before the next billing date. Renewal refreshes the current paid-period allowance; it does not stack a second allowance on top of an expired one. Cancelling stops future renewal but normally keeps paid access until the current period ends. At expiry, only the expired subscription allowance and time-limited benefits end.
Restarts and game over
Arrest, bankruptcy, election defeat, resignation, or a voluntary restart ends the administration, not your account. Unspent purchased Civic Credits, active Cabinet membership, and qualifying historical-customer or leaderboard status survive. A limited Continuity Voucher may apply when purchased value was used immediately before a sudden ending.
Restore purchases
Use Restore purchases in the app while signed into the Google account that made the purchase. Restore rechecks Google Play and the authoritative server wallet. It must not grant the same item twice or recreate consumed Civic Credits.
Refunds, revocations, and billing problems
Google Play controls checkout and most refund decisions. You can review orders and request eligible help through Google Play. If a purchase is refunded, revoked, charged back, or determined invalid, only the related item, entitlement, or remaining value may be reversed; unrelated permanent purchases remain.
For support, email support@mayorsoftheworld.com with the product, approximate date, and redacted order reference. Never send a purchase token, password, or full payment-card information.
Manage or cancel a subscription
Open Google Play → profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Mayors of the World. You can also open Google Play subscriptions.
Deleting the app or your Mayors account does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Cancel separately in Google Play to stop future renewals.
